Supportive and Confidential Counselling

EXPLORE SESSIONS

"I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become."   - Carl Jung

About Me

I’m married with two grown children and two grown step-children.  I became a qualified counsellor in 2018,  but my interest in supporting people goes back much further.  Since around 2000,  I’ve been involved in visiting and supporting individuals through my work with a charity, where I first discovered how meaningful it is to walk alongside someone during challenging times.

I offer counselling to anyone,  regardless of the issue they’re facing.  My approach is warm, inclusive,  and centred around understanding each person’s unique experience.

I also have a particular interest in neurological conditions such as stroke and brain tumours. Having had a major stroke myself in 2012,  I truly understand the emotional and practical challenges that come with such life-changing events.  Together,  we can explore ways to rebuild your life and move forward with strength and hope.

How Counselling Can Help

Sometimes we don’t fully understand why we feel the way we do.  Talking to a counsellor can help you explore these feelings,  make sense of them,  and find a way forward—even when life feels overwhelming or hopeless.

I’m a friendly,  gentle and warm counsellor with experience supporting people aged 14 and over.  I work with a wide range of issues including depression,  anxiety,  panic attacks, relationship difficulties and many of the challenges life can bring.

My Special Interest

I have a particular interest in working with people who are living with neurological conditions—such as stroke or brain tumours—as well as supporting their carers.   My own experience of surviving a major stroke has given me a deep understanding of the emotional,  physical and practical impact of neurological illness.  This insight shapes the empathy and compassion I bring to my work.

Over the years, I’ve helped many people feel safe enough to open up,  express what’s really going on for them,  and begin to move towards healing.

What is counselling therapy?

It’s a supportive and confidential space where you can share your feelings and experiences with a trained counsellor who will listen deeply,  empathise, and help you explore your innermost thoughts.

It’s a journey you don’t have to take alone — I’ll be beside you every step of the way.
If you’re unsure or would simply like to find out more,  feel free to get in touch.  I’m happy to offer a free 15-minute chat,  either face-to-face or over Zoom.
